Morristown, NJ – The importance of being a board certified plastic surgeon
There was a very interesting story on ABC news’ Nightline on March 8, 2010, which highlighted the potential dangers of undergoing surgery or having injectable filler treatments or skin resurfacing procedures (such as lasers or peels) in a medi-spa environment. http://abcnews.go.com/Nightline/TheLaw/florida-medspa-doctor-loses-license/story?id=10043423
This tragic story highlights the importance, once again, of being treated only by a qualified, preferably board certified, physician who has experience in the procedure being done. Injectable filler treatments such as Botox and Juvederm should only be injected by qualified, experienced practitioners. There are many 1-3 day courses out there trying to teach people how to peform plastic surgical procedures. Board certified plastic surgeons undergo rigorous training for many years and are subjected to multiple stages of testing in order to provide the highest quality of safe and competent plastic surgical care. Make sure the person performing your plastic surgery is a board certified plastic surgeon, certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery.
