This 42 year old woman was left with a severe bulging abdomen (rectus diastasis) post pregnancy. Dr. Brian S. Glatt performed an abdominoplasty (tummy tuck) as well as tightening of her muscle layer (correction of diastasis). A temporary mesh was used for reinforcement of the repair and to provide long term support. A umbilical hernia was repaired concurrently by a surgical colleague. She is pictured here 1 year following her surgery.
